The Blues, Jazz and Folk Music Society collaborating in a benefit for the Colony Theatre restoration will present Teeny Tucker on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. (doors open at 8:30 p.m.) in the Lafayette Hotel Ballroom, 101 Front Street, Marietta, Ohio.
Blues singer, Teeny Tucker, a big voiced bues singer, and her band will entertain you with an evening of outstanding blues and jazz. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the experience or head for the dance floor.
The benefit concert is a "release party" for her new CD The Two Big M's a tribute to Big Mama Thornton and Big Maybelle. Big Mama (Willie Mae Thornton) and Big Maybelle (Mabel Louise Smith) were two immensely talented yet under-appreciated female blues giants.
Teeny is the daughter of the late Tommy Tucker. He is best known for the hit High Heel Sneakers that has been recorded by over 200 artists including: Elvis Presley, Jose Feliciano, StevieWonder, Paul McCarthy and Janis Joplin.
